June 5, 2001 Capitol Hill Forum on Mental Health and Its Impact on Older Americans

Project Description:
SPRY, in partnership with the National Committee to Preserve Social Security and Medicare and the American Association for Geriatric Psychiatry, sponsored a Forum on Capitol Hill to raise awareness of the impact that mental health disorders have on older adults throughout the country. The Forum, held on June 5, 2001, included speakers who are experts in the areas of geriatric psychiatry and health economics. Also speaking at the Forum were Senator Paul Wellstone, Representative Patrick Kennedy, and Representative Gene Green.

Project Status:
A briefing paper, outlining the Forum as well as mental health policy recommendations, has been released and is available for download by clicking on the image above.
