Project Description:
The SPRY Foundation received a grant from the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute in June 2001 to develop and test an intergenerational education program in high blood pressure for children, their parents, and older adults. The program consists of an in-school educational module on high blood pressure for middle school children, an intergenerational workshop series, and an educational program for older adults only. The SPRY Foundation is working with the OASIS Institute to develop and test the program components in selected target cities. The program is also supported by the donation of digital blood pressure monitors from OMRON Healthcare, Inc.
